Most people do not know the general process of booking a boat in Tulum. It should be relatively easy, but unfortunately, many customers do not realize boat availability is often limited and competitive. Here are our top four mistakes we often encounter when customers are unable to reserve.
NOT DESIGNATING A GO-TO PLANNER AND ORGANIZER
If you're involved in a bachelorette or bachelor party, having a designated organizer will help expediate the process. The organizer should collectively decide which boats the group prefers and have alternative choices before requesting availability, and not after. Many times, groups lose out because they ask for availability first, and then decide on the boats later (this may take days and weeks).
NOT PLANNING FOR THE HIGH SEASON
Our high season in Tulum is late November through March. Which means, it is best to book 2-3 months in advance (especially last week of December). We know not all customers know their schedule that far in advance. However, our motto is, the sooner, the better. With our excellent refund policy, you have no reason not to!
NOT READY TO PAY DEPOSIT
When you proceed with the reservation, we send you a deposit request, valid for 24 hours. No boat company will hold your boat or date without a deposit, as this is a common business practice. Our best advice for planners and organizers, pay first, collect later. If you wait to collect (this may take days or weeks), the boat and date may no longer be available. The remaining balance is collected at boarding, so any cost difference can be handled then.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
We care about details and transparency. We pride ourselves in listing our boat prices clearly on the website, the inclusions, and having a thorough FAQ's. But we understand some customers maybe busy and require additional questions. However, this may potentially lead to losing out on a reservation (as boat availability changes daily, sometimes hourly).
